Supercapacitor Onboard Energy Storage System (OBESS)

KEY FIGURES

25% energy consumption saving and Co2 emission reduction

Uninterrupted power supply for IoT system off grid

Working life over 1 million duty cycles for 10 years
Super Cap, Super Saving
The onboard energy storage system (OBESS) with SuperCaps provides railway vehicles a reliable way to save enormous energy for daily operation and reduce railway operators’ impact on the environment. The Supercapacitor-based OBESS can collect the braking energy from the train by feeding it back to the network or storing it.
Our innovative system could lead to more than 25% energy saving in rail vehicles, at the same time reducing the peak power demand drastically to increase the effectiveness of energy use, cost savings and decarbonization of electrified transport due to reduction of CO2 emissions. With 72 67F-rated super-capacitors, a train vehicle can save 0.7GWh energy power and reduce 550 tons of emission of CO2 every year.
Features and Value Proposition
Saving energy & saving The Earth
Decrease of peak demand
Longer life of braking system
Catenary free for operation & IoT
external power supply. This can be used in emergency as operation during power loss, for example, to excavate the passenger from tunnels. The catenary free operation allow independent movements within depots or workshops without power supply. It also provide power for deployed IoT system after service.
